New Seven-Seat Lexus RX L
Lexus have officially revealed a new version of their flagship SUV at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, a practical seven-seat Lexus RX L.
The Japanese manufacturer have been teasing a larger SUV model for some time now, previously releasing shots of the rear of the vehicle only revealing branding. Little else was known, however the RX L is finally on the show floor at Los Angeles and we have all the details.
To make space for an additional row of seating, Lexus extends the original body by 110mm with a higher tailgate and raised middle row to ensure rear passengers have ample head room and leg room. These passengers also have ability to make use of the vehicles tri-zone climate control, with individual cup holders.
As the vehicle has been extended, boot capacity has also increased over the standard RX which has a 453-litre load bay. The third row of seats can also be folded flat into the floor of the boot, for even more space. Whilst Lexus is yet to state by how much, this increase and the folding seats makes the RX L a very practical option.
Owners get a choice of two powertrain. A 3.5-litre V6 engine developing 290bhp and a hybrid option that offers 308bhp. The new seven-seat RX L is expected to be available in the United Kingdom next spring with price and specifications yet to be announced.
