New Porsche 911 Carrera T
Porsche have unveiled a new model in the 911 line up with the Porsche 911 Carrera T. This new model is set to be the lightest model on offer.
This results in incredible peformance gains. Inspired by the 1968 model of the same name, this Touring variant is the pursuit 911 to date with a stripped out interior and the addition of dynamic driving enhancements.
Porsche have made many weight-saving decisions including pull loops for door handles, use of thinner glass in the rear and side windows, less sound insolation and removal of the rear seats. This has resulted in the Carrera T weighing 20kg lighter than the traditional model. Added features include the Porsche Active Suspension Management, and optional rear-wheel steering.
The original and still impressive 3.0 liter twin-turbo engine remains, however the acceleration has improved with the manual variant doing 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds. The optional seven-speed PDK takes 4.2 seconds and top speeds are in excess of 180mph.
Inside the Porsche remains a comfortable and sporty looking cabin, featuring a leather GT sport steering wheel, fashionable yellow trims, Sport-Tex seats and headrests that have had 911 etched into them. The dashboard remains as smart and user friendly as other models in the line up, which is sure to impress.
The Porsche 911 Carrera T is expected to have a list price of £85,576 and deliveries are expected to start in January next year.
