Peugeot have announced that the existing 3008 and new 508 models will now be available with a selection of plug-in hybrid powertrains. in addition to this, the top of the range 3008 GT will utilise an all-wheel drive system for the first time. All models will be able to drive using only the electric motors for a driving range of up to 30 miles. A range of new configurations will be made available with first deliveries made in 2019.
The Peugeot 3008 will be driven by a 1.6 PureTech petrol engine outputting 197bhp, with two electric motors (one at the front and another at the rear for all-wheel drive) for a combined output of 296bhp. This new model will be the best performing of the 3008 range, achieving 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds. The battery for the 3008 Hybrid can be recharged in under two hours, with the i-Cockpit displaying remaining charge at all times.
Both the Peugeot 508 and larger 508 SW Hybrid use a PureTech petrol engine with a 178bhp output. The electric motor featured produces 109bhp, for a combined power output of 222bhp. These models make use of a smaller battery and a front-wheel-drive setup, though the range remains unchanged. All models are paired with a eight-speed automatic gearbox and will be available to lease in the second quarter of 2019.
