Geneva Motor Show 2018: Complete Guide

The Geneva Motor Show 2018 is being held at Palexpo convention centre in Geneva, Switzerland. Doors open on the 8th of March, and the show runs until the 18th of March. The show is expected to have a series of announcements from the worlds largest manufacturers including the likes of Audi, Mercedes, BMW and many more. Many cars are expected to get their reveal at Geneva, with several already teased.
Audi e-tron SUV Prototype - Preview
Whilst a production version has yet to be revealed, Audi had a unique showcase for their e-tron SUV prototype. In addition to being displayed on the show floor, the brand had a fleet of the prototypes driving around the streets of Geneva. Soon after official pictures were released giving the best look at the upcoming vehicle. More details about the all-electric powertrain are in our preview article.
Abarth At Geneva Motor Show - Full Article
The standalone performance brand of Fiat are set to debut a brand new Abarth 124 GT Convertible (pictured above). Several tweaks have been made to the exterior of the vehicle including a new finish, new 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels and most notably a removable hard-top roof. The new 124 GT will debut along the Abarth 695 Rivale Convertible with unique features of its own.
Alfa Romeo At Geneva Motor Show - Full Article
Alfa Romeo have announced that the Geneva Motor Show will play host to the first appearance of their Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING special editions. The new models have been created to commemorate a record breaking lap time for the Giulia Quadrifgolio in September 2016, as the fastest production saloon around the infamous Nürburgring track.
2018 BMW X4 - Full Reveal
BMW have revealed the all-new 2018 X4 model prior to the vehicles debut at this years Genenva Motor Show. The next chapter in the success story refines the shape of the model with even more coupe-styling whilst still offering greater space and practicality. The interior also gets a few upgrades with high-grade materials, voice control and the latest technology.
BMW M2 Coupe Edition Black Shadow - Full Reveal
BMW have revealed a new special edition of their M2 Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show, to celebrate their best selling M-branded model in 2017. The Black Shadow edition has unique styling that further adds to the models athletic looks, exclusively available in a black finish on 19-inch black matt alloy wheels. Further black and carbon styling features on several elements of the vehicle.
BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe - Full Reveal
BMW may have stole Geneva Motor Show with the reveal of their Concept M8 Gran Coupe. Amongst the crowd of concept vehicles and new designs, the M8 Gran Coupe Concept stands out for its stunning looks. The new concept is a preview of a production version that will be available next year, which thankfully is said to retain the majority of the concepts design language.
Citroen Berlingo Multispace - Reveal
Citroen have revealed the third generation of their Berlingo Multispace, with many revisions made to the already class-leading leisure activity vehicle. The new model receives a fresh face that benefits from the latest and modern Citroen design language. Further improvements have been made making for an even more practical, versatile and accessible Berlingo Multispace.
2018 Cupra Ateca - Full Reveal
SEAT have made the decision for their performance sub-division CUPRA to form as a standalone brand, creating vehicles under their own identity. The Cupra Ateca is the first of these vehicles, a high-performance SUV with details unique to the Cupra variant. With a highly capable engine, sporty characteristic highlights and an upmarket interior, the first Cupra model looks distinct.
Cupra E-Racer Concept - Full Reveal
With the first standalone production model revealed from Cupra, the brand followed up the news unveiling the E-Racer Concept. The new concept vehicle is the world's first electric touring car, based on the previous Leon TCR touring car. The E-Racer swaps the combustion engine out for an electric powertrain, which offers huge gains in performance. Find out more in the full reveal.
All-new Honda CR-V Revealed - Reveal
Honda have revealed the next-generation of their flagship CR-V SUV with subtle changes made to the new models style, a option for seven seats and a hybrid powertrain. The new vehicle benefits from being slightly larger, making room for the extra passengers. It also receives Honda's Intelligent Multi Mode Drive hybrid powertrain, find out full details in our reveal article.
Hyundai originally previewed their next-generation seven-seat 2018 Santa Fe, releasing a sketch of both the front and rear of the new model. The first image released confirmed the dramatic refresh of the model, with a more boldly designed body with the front end also benefiting from some striking enhancements. Hyundai have revealed the all-electric version of their Hyundai Kona small SUV that will launch this summer, after a public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. With exterior and interior images revealed, Hyundai also made a promise for a range of up to 292 miles from a single charge. This combined with the Kona's generous standard equipment is a model to keep an eye out for.
Hyundai Le Fil Rouge Concept - Reveal
Hyundai also unveiled a new concept vehicle to demonstrate the future design language of their vehicles, the Hyundai Le Fil Rouge Concept. The four-door coupe is an elegant look vehicle based on a theme the designers call "Sensuous Sportiness". A minimal and spacious interior also features, with suicide doors allowing access into the vehicles cabin. Find out more in the reveal article.
Kia have now revealed the next-generation Ceed, the first without the apostrophe in the middle of the name. A sketch of the model was originally released of the model prior to a full reveal from Kia. Kia released several images including surrounding shots of the refreshed design and a look at the refined interior. New style and further technology for a more upmarket hatch.
2018 Kia Ceed Sportswagon - Reveal
Kia also revealed the all-new Ceed Sportswagon alongside the Hatchback at this years Geneva Motor Show. The Sportswagon benefits from many of the new styling cues of the hatchback, in addition to several unique improvements. A new powertrain is offered, whilst the vehicle is longer and wider - offering an even more spacious boot than before.
Jaguar have announced the first fully-electric SUV market with the I-Pace. Originally a concept at the 2016 Los Angeles Motor Show, the production variant has now been unveiled after much anticipation. Land Rover have unveiled a brand new Range Rover SV Coupe, an incredibly limited and luxurious model. With only 999 models to be hand built at Land Rover's facility, and a list price starting from £240,000 - the SV Coupe redefines what a high-end Range Rover is. The three door features a distinct exterior look inspired by Land Rover heritage, and one of the most opulent interiors ever made.
Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder - Reveal
A year after revealing the Huracan Performante at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini have unveiled the soft top version. The new variant offers the same striking styling from the coupe version, as well as the same athletic style luxurious interior. The Performante Spyder also offers greater refinement with a considerable weight reduction over the normal model.
Lexus are to debut the production Lexus UX at the Geneva Motor Show. Back at the Paris Motor Show in 2016, Lexus turned heads with a bold UX Concept vehicle with a striking design, though the production model is a slightly more subtle version of this. The manufacturer have released the first image showcasing the front of the vehicle before the show.
Mazda 6 Tourer - Preview
Much like the Mazda 6 Saloon before it, the manufacturer are taking an upmarket design language to their latest vehicles. The Mazda 6 Tourer is the next to recieve such an upgrade, with several design tweaks made to the exterior for a more executive and classy look. An interior image released also shows an impressive upgrade to the cabin. Take a look at the preview prior to a show floor debut.
Mercedes have done a brilliant job showcasing the 2018 A Class. The first reveal showed off the remarkable new interior, which looks more fitting to a larger model, benefiting from a truly upmarket refresh. Mercedes then teased a voice controlled personal assistant that can be summoned by saying "Hey, Mercedes!". Now full images have been released showing off the refreshed looks.
Mercedes-AMG C 63 Saloon - Full Reveal
Mercedes have revealed a facelift and increase in power for their AMG C 43 Saloon, prior to the vehicle debuting at the Geneva Motor Show. The latest variant offers an improved style with a fresh front grille, sporty air intake design, tweaked LED headlights and tail lights. The new model also offers an increase in power and the latest digital instrument technology.
2018 Mercedes-Benz C Class - Reveal
Mercedes have also revealed their 2018 C Class Saloon, a revised version of one of the UK's best selling vehicles in the past year. 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV - Preview
Mitsubishi have revealed the next generation Outlander with several upgrades from the existing model, the best selling plug-in hybrid vehicle for the last three years running. The new model benefits from several updates including a new larger petrol engine, a more powerful electric motor and several tweaks to the exterior style.
Peugeot 508 - Preview
Prior to the Geneva Motor Show, a leak released the first official images of the Peugeot 508 Saloon. The images unveiled a sleek new style for the brands flagship model, with a contemporary grille design contrasted by futuristic daytime running lights. Other dynamic styling was shown across several exterior images, whilst we got our first look at the upmarket cabin.
Peugeot Rifter - Reveal
Peugeot have revealed their all-new leisure activity vehicle (LAV) the 2018 Peugeot Rifter, replacing the existing Peugeot Partner Tepee. The new model offers several improvements over the current Partner Tepee with a design inspired from the latest Peugeot passenger cars, ample space, ease of accessibility and an upmarket interior with generous technology.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS - Reveal
Porsche Motorsport have revealed the second-generation of their 911 GT3 RS, with a clear focus on performance and inspired sport styling. Several revisions have been made to the new model, which is now the most powerful non-turbo Porsche to have ever been created. Several changes have also been made to the vehicles style, with a considerable reduction in weight. Find out more in the full reveal.
Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo - Reveal
Porsche surprised many when revealing the Mission E Cross Turismo Concept at this years Geneva Motor Show. Based on the original Porsche Mission E Concept, the Cross Turismo features a larger rear end and crossover styling for a more practical variant. Performance still remains astonishing, as do charging times that Porsche promise to revolutionise.
Renault Zoe R110 - Reveal
Renault have revealed a more powerful version of their all-electric Zoe hatchback. The new model features a more capable electric motor, with an increase of 12kW resulting in an additional 16bhp. This results in an improved rolling acceleration, though initial acceleration remains the same. A new purple paint option and complimenting purple interior pack have also been made available.
Renault EZ-GO Concept - Reveal
Renault revealed one of the most unique concepts at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, a fully autonomous six-seater taxi. The EZ-GO Concept is an example of what urban mobility could look like in 2030, with users hailing a ride from designated stations or from their smartphone. The vehicle will then factor in multiple users destinations and drive a efficient route for all customers.
The Skoda Fabia is a car long due with a refresh since the current model first came out in 2015. Skoda look set to reveal just that at the Geneva Motor Show, with a preview sketch originally released showcasing some new design tweaks. The brand later released the first images of the facelifted Fabia showcasing updated headlights, a more elegant chrome grille and new alloys.
Skoda have also debuted a unique concept at the Geneva Motor Show, namely the Vision X. The small crossover has a clearly inspired style borrowing from the design language of Skoda's larger vehicles, with plenty of additional new dynamic styling cues. Most interesting is the use of a CNG-hybrid powertrain which reduces CO2 output of the vehicle whilst offering four-wheel drive.
Smart EQ NightSky Special Editions - Full Reveal
Smart announced that the first models to receive the first EQ branding, a new badge from parent company Mercedes-Benz reserved for electric vehicles. The Smart EQ ForTwo, ForTwo Cabrio and ForFour were unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, alongside a limited edition NightSky variant. The new models feature unique body styling, optional fast-charging and innovative technology.
2018 SsangYong Musso - Preview
SsangYong are to debut their new pick up at the Geneva Motor Show, revealing the first image of the 2018 Musso prior to a full reveal on the show floor. The Musso, elsewhere known as the Korando Sports, is based on the flagship Rexton SUV from the manufacturer. In our preview we take a look at the similarities as well as some of the specifications that have already been confirmed prior to the event.
SsangYong debuted a new electric SUV Concept on the Geneva show floor, namely the Ssangyong e-SIV. The concept previews the design language for a future production vehicle that will influence the next Korando model. The e-SIV branding stands for Electronic Smart Interface Vehicle, as the interior also showcases advanced technology and autonomous features.
Subaru have unveiled a new concept in the Viziv Tourer Concept, an estate version of a Viziv Performance Concept saloon previously shown. It is rumoured that the concept will give us an indication of how a future Subaru WRX estate might look. The concept also features Subaru's suite of Eyesight Technology driver assists, though only suggestions have been made on the powertrain.
New Toyota Auris - Reveal
Toyota surprised many with the unveiling of the third-generation Auris at the Geneva Motor Show. The unexpected debutant was revealed offering a sleek new look, and new hybrid powertrain options. The news of the new model comes after an announcement that the model will be built in Derbyshire, UK. While interior shots are yet to be released, there is plenty to take a closer look at.
2018 Toyota Aygo - Reveal
Toyota have revealed the 2018 model year of their highly successful Aygo city car, with a fresh face and improved driving dynamics. The overall look of the vehicle is much more sophisticated, with a move from the 2D graphic to a three-dimensional front X design. Further design tweaks make for an elegant yet still distinct model, with plenty of customisation options.
2018 Vauxhall Combo Life - Preview
Vauxhall have announced their an all new Combo Life model, entering the Leisure Activity Vehicle market alongside the new Berlingo and Partner. With several similarities across the PSA Group line up, the Vauxhall Combo Life stands out for the distinct style and characteristic design. The interior also features an impressive list of equipment included as standard, with generous customisation options.
Volkswagen have added to their family of electric concept vehicles with the I.D. Vizzion Concept. The latest member of the line up is a premium saloon, that showcases how VW imagine a luxury model in 2030. This includes a highly innovative cabin, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and a remarkable 413 mile all-electric range.
