2020 BMW X5 M Competition
October 1st, 2019 BMW introduced the new, BMW X5 M.
The X5 and X6 based vehicles, the X5 M Sports Activity Vehicle and X6 M Sports Activity Coupé. The newest M SAV and SAC vehicles offer drivers more power and performance, as well as improved luxury and comfort over the vehicles that they are replacing while also featuring the latest technology, including driver assistance, personal connectivity and infotainment.
The passengers cabin of the X5 M, and Competition versions have been designed and adapted with key features to set them apart in both comfort and exclusivity. The new M models come with the M Leather steering wheel and on the M Leather gearshift lever. The BMW X5 M models come with BMW Live Cockpit Professional running the latest iDrive 7 operating system as standard. This piece of technology, control and display systems gives the driver and passengers a whole new and unique package for interacting with their new X5 M vehicles. The owner of the cars can be detected and personal settings activated either using the vehicle key or by downloading the driver’s personal details on the BMW Cloud.
The X5 M twin-turbocharged S63 V8 engine generating 600 hp @ 6,000 rpm This is an increase of 33 hp than the outgoing 2nd generation models. The Competition models give a maximum 617 hp @ 1,800 – 5,860 rpm. With the M Steptronic eight-speed automatic transmission with Drivelogic, the M xDrive all-wheel drive system with Active M differential, the power and allows the X5 M to do 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds from stationary, and 3.7 seconds for the Competition models. The top speed has been limited to 155 mph, but can be increased to 177 mph with the optional M Driver’s Package.
