2020 MINI Cooper SE Electric
The new Mini will be the first purely electric vehicle made by the British brand.
With the new MINI Cooper SE, the British brand has set the bar for urban mobility. 60 years ago, the iconic design of the classic Mini established maximum interior space within a minimum surface area. The high-voltage battery is placed deep in the vehicle floor, ensuring that no needed space will be used, such as luggage compartment volume as compared to the standard powered MINI hatch.
The Mini has digital displays which provide information on the charge level of the battery, the current selected MINI Driving Mode, the status of the driver assistance systems and Check Control messages. It also offers news on the range available, current drive power, outside temperature, time and mileage are displayed, along with traffic sign detection reports. Mini also offer special interior features which include the model-specific gear selector lever on the centre console. The new MINI Cooper SE has also got an electric parking brake that is activated by a switch on the centre console.
The motor of the new MINI Cooper SE gives off a maximum output of 135 kW/181 hp. Its maximum torque of 199 ft-lb is already achieved from standstill, just like most other electric motors. The new MINI Cooper SE accelerates from stationary to 37 mph in just 3.9 seconds. The purely electrical powered MINI accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 7.3 seconds and its top speed has been limited to 93.2 mph. The Mini has no noise, so they have fitted a unique sound which is projected through speakers which will give pedestrians awareness of the car, another safety measure Mini has ensured.
