2020 BMW M2 CS COUPE
November 5, 2019, BMW M GmbH announced the next BMW M2, the M2 CS.
The new M2 CS has been improved and designed next to the new M2 CS Racing model, which BMW Motorsport will offer as a new entry model into customer racing. BMW M GmbH and BMW Motorsport have worked closely together to take their knowledge from the M2 street car and from the M4 GT4 customer program and they apply that knowledge to the new M2 CS Racing model.
The new BMW M2 CS is powered by an uprated S55 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. The engine produces 444 hp at 6,250 rpm. The power of the TwinPower engine allows the M2 CS to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds when equipped with the 7-speed dual clutch transmission and in 4.0 seconds when paired with the 6-speed manual.
The interior of the M2 CS is a mix of race track inspired aesthetics with weight saving technology. The centre console is made from CFRP, saving over 2.7kg when compared to a standard 2 Series console. Alcantara material covers the centre armrest and dash trim, which also has an embroidered CS badge in red stitching. The standard M Sport Steering wheel is covered in Alcantara with red stitching and a race stripe.
The 2020 BMW M2 CS will make its world debut later this month at the Los Angeles Motor Show, which starts on November the 22nd 2019.
