2020 Audi RS Q8
The new 2020 Audi RS Q8 is the newest in the RS lineup with its 4.0 litre Turbocharged V8 engine.
RS Q8 product manager Markus Eberle said “making a true RS model out of the Q8 was a tough challenge, both because of the SUV’s size and weight and its breadth of ability”. He said: “It demanded a lot. We didn’t want to lose the comfort and drivability of the Q8, or its off-road ability, but we wanted to add performance so that it was suitable for the race track.”
The interior of the new RS Q8 has a clean and sharp design. In the cockpit there is the MMI touch response system. It has a black-panel look, it then dissolves into a large, black surface when switched off. Special RS displays in the Audi virtual cockpit and MMI display give information like the output, g-forces, lap times, temperature, torque and tire pressure. The shift light display tells the driver to upshift when the rev limit has been reached.
The 4.0-litre V8 in the RS Q8 outputs an amazing 591hp and 590.0 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharged engine with direct injection boosts the large Sport Utility Vehicle from 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds and has a top track speed of 155.3 mph or 189.5 mph when the RS ceramic brakes are paired with it. The power of the 4.0 TFSI engine goes to the quattro all-wheel drive system through the standard eight-speed Tiptronic transmission.
