2018 Mercedes Sprinter
Mercedes-Benz revealed the interior of the 2018 Mercedes Sprinter, featuring some advanced technology, seen for the first time.
The 2018 variant of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is looking to be a more connected and forward thinking vehicle, with functionality otherwise unseen in the large commercial vehicle class. Mercedes have revealed a series of images of the next Sprinter, including the first interior shots, prior to a launch of the new model coming at the start of next year.
The changes inside the next generation Mercedes-Benz Sprinter are instantly apparent when compared to the current model year. At the centre of the cabin is a sizeable freestanding dashboard with large infotainment system surrounded by modernised turbine-style air vents. There are also several other pleasant additions to the new model year with colour instrument display, push to start, climate control and heated front seats.
However, the majority of the technology comes in the form of connectivity, with features that enables fleet managers greater control and awareness of their vehicles. The hardware in the van will allow for the fleet manager to monitor their vehicle, allow remote control of loading and, view vital information such as fuel levels and maintenance requirements.
The vehicles communication model sends the aforementioned information to the fleet managers desktop computer via software called Mercedes Pro. Further features include a sat nav system that will allow for multi-drops and navigation re-routing based on the drivers journey minimising delays.
The next-generation Mercedes Sprinter is to debut in February 2018, with a fully electric variant called the eSprinter expected alongside. The new model is set to be launched in 2019. If you are looking to lease a Mercedes Benz van in the mean time, take a look at our offers.
