Fulton Leasing hosted a table at the 2009 Fleet News awards and were delighted when their hopes and suspicions were confirmed during the impressive video countdown of this year’s top 50 Contract Hire Companies.

Fulton, established in 1980 has built a solid reputation over the years and has enjoyed strong relations with many of the leading contract hire companies as a super broker but have not looked back since deciding it was time to go it alone. Fulton’s entry to the FN50 came only 2 years after their decision to take the residual value risk on selected deals and another year on, Fulton are going from strength to strength.

We realise that our growth has probably been helped a little with the recent mergers and contractions within the industry but nevertheless, we are absolutely delighted. We have a solid and mature database of valued clients and have used our experience in the SME sector to develop innovative ideas such as Fulton Fleetcheck ensuring they run safe and compliant fleets.

We have a fleet of just over 2500 vehicles and have found that our ability to relate to the smaller customer has enabled us to offer a good honest service in a competitive environment. Our strap line nearly 30 years ago was ‘our service begins with the signing of a contract and not ends’ and whilst that sounds a little dated today fundamentally it is still very true.

Some would say that it is not the ideal time to assume the risk on residual values but we are confident that with our access to 3 vehicles used car sites and franchised dealers we will be well placed to dispose of fleets effectively and continue to demonstrate our expertise in residual value forecasting.

We have noticed recently that some of our clients do not meet the strict criteria set down by some of the major contract hire companies but our knowledge of the customer and the relationship we have forged with them over many years gives us the confidence and peace of mind to allow them to continue in their respective business by offering them an alternative route to funding.

We have recently moved to new offices in Reading and are now well placed to deal with clients all over the country.
