The nation’s favourite cars

What have a Pontiac Trans AM, a Reliant Robin a DeLorean and an original VW Beetle all have in common? They’re all on the list of our all time favourite TV cars!

Offering rather more advice than your average SatNav, Knight Rider’s KITT topped the recent MSN Cars poll with almost a quarter of all the votes. Packed with gismos and gadgets, plus endless sage advice, the black car with the signature strobing red light was the clear winner. You’d think that an ability to travel through time would be enough to earn Marty McFly’sback to the Future wheels the second spot, but the Delorean was beaten by Del Boy with his decidedly low tech yellow Reliant Robin.

Starsky and Hutch hand-brake truned their famous white striped red Ford Turnino into joint forth with the Batmobile, followed by  the possessed Herbie, with Ian Flemming’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang  chugging along in last place.

The full list looked like this:
