Porsche’s regular Turbo is already the firm’s fastest-accelerating car, but this hasn’t stopped them producing an even more extreme 2011 variant – the Porsche 911 Turbo S.
The ultimate version of the four-wheel drive supercar will getting more power and will be arriving in UK showrooms later on this year, after making its world debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show next month.
The 2011 model uses the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo engine as the 911 Turbo, but delivers 30bhp more power. This boost takes it to a whopping 530bhp and a huge 700Nm of torque, which is better than the GT2, and comes exclusively with the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) dual clutch transmission. However, despite the increase in power and dynamic performance, fuel economy remains the same at 24.8mpg combined, making it one of the most fuel efficient sports cars in its class.
Combined with the launch control function on the standard Sport Chrono package, the 911 Turbo S rockets from 0-62mph in just 3.3 seconds and reaches 124mph in 10.8 seconds, onto a top speed on 195mph.
Standard equipment includes a three-spoke sports steering wheel with mounted gearshift paddles, ceramic brakes, a mechanical limited-slip differential, cruise control, CD/DVD changer, adaptive sports seats, exclusive twin-tone leather upholstery and some 19″ RS Spyder design wheels.
The 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S will go on sale in Europe this May, and will also be available as a Coupe variant.
