The government have confirmed that the brand new £36.7 million M54 Flyover, next to the Land Rover Plant, will be built with a noise reducing surface.
It would cost £1.5 million to resurface the motorway with a low noise surface. It is supposed to last for up to 10 years without needing to be resurfaced and some areas would even last up to 14 years without needing to be resurfaced.
The flyover itself will connect junction 2 of the M54 and the i54 business park and will be built by Wolverhampton City Council and Staffordshire County Council.
The Wolverhampton City Council and Staffordshire County Council are also planning on a 6 week resurfacing of the nearby A449 Stafford Road through Coven with the same noise reducing surface.
This comes after the announcement that Land Rover would be spending £355 million on renovating their Wolverhampton engine plant in the i54 business park which we tweeted last month.
Interestingly, to get permission to build this, Land Rover introduced a £1.8 million scheme to boost public transport by encouraging worker to cycle into work.
Land Rover workers would get an incentive of 20p per mile and there would be enough space for employees to park their bikes.
All these come after the explosive Land Rover Range Rover Evoque was released and won multiple awards making a record amount of money for Land Rover.
If you want to get your hands on a Land Rover, why not lease a Land Rover. There is a fantastic selection of Land Rovers to lease from the Defender to the Land Rover Freelander 2, also the Range Rover Range with the Evoque and Range Rover Sport available to lease.
