Nostalgia rules with the Porsche 911 Sports Classic

Porsche designs have always hankered back to the glory years of the seventies. The bygone days of Charlie’s Angels and ‘big’ hair. So it’s no surprise to see a new retro version of the 911 emerge, packed with playful nods to Porches past.

Yet the new 911 Sports Classic is far from stuck in the past. It may carry classic Fuchs style alloys and a decidedly old school fixed ducktail rear spoiler, plus a big hair friendly double domed roof, but it can still blast out a massive 402 bhp, thrusting you from 0-62 in 4.6 seconds. Fortunately it stops just as enthusiastically, with 350mm Porsche ceramic composite brake discs helping to keep the beast in check.

It also boasts a mass of hi-tech giggery pokery under the bonnet, including a brand new variable-resonance intake system with six vacuum controlled flaps that allow precision control of airflow for ultimate performance, whether in the high torque or high power settings. Only 250 of these very special 911s are planned, but then at £140,000 each, that’s perhaps not surprising!

If you fancy driving a Porsche for that special occasion or just to impress someone, Porsche Leasing is always an option that won’t break the bank!
