Nissan is freshening up its Qashqai range this spring with the Qashqai +2 and standard versions both getting a makeover.
Two new paint options, Magnetic Red and Mineral Grey, are offered to cover the new body design. The front end of the Qashqai gets particular attention, with new bonnet, wings and bumper along with redesigned front grille and headlamps completing the look. The rear lights now have reduced drag thanks to aerodynamic tweaks, and LEDs are used for clarity and power saving. New 16- and 17-inch five-spoke alloys complete the exterior modifications, but the interior also gets a makeover.
The main dials have been redesigned, with a white LCD screen for the trip computer to show fuel consumption, mileage and other useful driver info. Low-level lighting improves the ambience inside the cockpit and comfort is generally improved throughout with better audio insulation and acoustic windscreens with better window sealing keeping things nice a quiet so you can listen to the MP3 player (or Bose sound system in the Tekna trim level).
The new Qashqai range also gets the obligatory green version, with the PureDrive being based on a 1.5-litre diesel engine. CO2 emissions are reduced to 129g/km with the PureDrive, and this is the result of further aerodynamic tweaks, reduction in overall weight and lower roll-resistance tyres.
