Even with all the seats up, the new VW Golf Variant has more than enough space for your clubs and your trolley, with 560 litres of rear space on offer. And when you fold the rear seats down, that rear cargo room rises to a massive 1550 litres.
The new Golf estate is launched this June, with a choice of 122bhp petrol or 105bhp or 140bhp common rail diesel engines. It also comes with three impressive trim levels, with even the most basic being anything but.
The entry-level Trimline option still comes complete with ESP, six airbags, 16-inch wheels, power windows front and rear, central locking with remote keyless entry and tilt-up cargo floor. Move up to the Sportsline version and you’ll also get a stunning two-piece glass panorama sunroof, stretching over 1.3m down the car and almost a metre across.
The new Golf Variants will be available from this summer, with a wider range of engines to be phased in over the coming months.
