On sale in the UK early next year is the all-new Doblo, a seven-seater MPV from Fiat which offers more space and reduced emissions thanks to new engines.
The 2010 Doblo is based on a new larger platform, with Fiat claiming that it offers the best in its class for interior space. This is due to a 2,755mm wheelbase, which also offers 790-litres of luggage space and more passenger space in the form of seven seats. The interior is described as ‘flexible’ considering the numerous amounts of storage solutions available.
Initially the Doblo will be offered with four engines which include a 94bhp petrol motor and three diesel Multijet units with 89-, 104- and 133bhp. A dual-fuel petrol/methane version will be introduced at a later date, and an additional diesel engine linked to a Dualogic with automated manual transmission is also on its way. The lowest powered diesel engine will boast CO2 emissions of 129g/km. All engine variants will come with start/stop as standard to save fuel.
The usual safety equipment will be featured as standard in the new Doblo, with a front side airbag that is claimed to offer protection for both head and chest. Automatic climate control, parking sensors and a built-in ‘Blue&Me TomTom’ SatNav system is also available.
There are no details as yet on pricing and equipment levels, but Fiat are sure to publish some details fairly soon.
