To celebrate two decades of the MX-5, Mazda have announced a 20th Anniversary Edition of this great little sports car, which will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show this coming March.
The 20th Anniversary Edition Mazda MX-5 will only be available in Europe as a limited 2,000 units, and each unit will feature the requisite individually numbered plaque on the stainless steel scuff plates, and will also detail 20th Anniversary Edition badging.
Based on the 1.8-litre SE soft-top model, the 20th Anniversary Edition is available in a True Red, Crystal White Pearl, or Aurora Blue, and will feature a special body kit, plus chrome grille surround, chrome door handles, and chrome headlight surrounds. You will also get special silver-look fog light surrounds and new bespoke 17″ alloy wheels.
There are no changes to the engine, but the 20th Anniversary Edition does include the addition of a front suspension bracing bar to further tighten the handling.
That is all the information available on these special edition MX-5′s, but details revealing further specification and pricing will be announced at Geneva, where it will be displayed alongside the new Mazda 5 and the revised Mazda 6.
