Spy shots of the Lexus LF-A supercar testing at the Nurburgring track are emerging, showing that the car is nearly finished with front and rear bumpers, diffuser and clearly the active spoiler.

The Lexus LF-A, which should go on sale this year at nearly £300,000, will only have 500 models built over the next two or three years, depending on the time it takes to sell that many cars. With only 20 cars having been allocated for the UK, you’ll need to get your name down quickly, as buying one is a grand affair. Each owner will be introduced to their car at a private circuit in Spain by one of Toyota’s hand-picked driving superstars. It’s worth getting one for that alone!

The supercar is reported to contain a 5.0-litre V10 engine that can be revved to an astonishing 9,000rpm. And the engineers at Lexus are confident that the unit will produce 550bhp effortlessly and with the power to weight ratio of 366.6bhp per tonne, performance for this cool car should be up there with a Ferrari 599, which is the car’s main competitor. Carbon ceramic brakes are tucked away behind some big 20-inch wheels, and suspension is by double wishbones and coil-over dampers at the front, with multi-link arrangement and coil-over dampers at the back.

The outer body will be made from aluminium with the chassis being made from a carbon composite, giving the Lexus LF-A one of the stiffest shells in production car history.
With the extremely beefy looking LF-A being very well proportioned with a muscular design, it is a bold move from the Japanese firm, and one that is sure to pay off.
Until you can get your hands on one of these fantastic little supercars, lease a Lexus Sc Coupe from just £1095.56 per month.
