Lease a Volvo V50 Diesel Sportswagon from £259.99 per month plus VAT
Since it’s launch in 2004 the Volvo V50 has notched up some decent sales and looks more appealing than it’s previous model. The V50 is more enjoyable to drive and many saloons on the market and rival cars in this category will have a hard time trying to compete with the V50 and it’s high levels of refinement.
The V50 has a lot to offer families and is as stylish inside as it is out. The car’s sporty nature will appeal to enthusiastic drivers in the family, while the car’s safety points will weigh in big with parents.
A couple of factors suggest that this Volvo is a genuinely quick car. Firstly, a sub-eight second 0-60mph time from any automatic car is going some and secondly, anybody who has ever driven a turbo diesel car capable of these sort of acceleration figures will know just how addictive the mid-range acceleration is.
The Volvo V50′s cabin is spacious and will provide enough space for all of the occupants. The rear is also spacious and will accommodate two adults easily and the passenger seats fold flat to make room for large loads. The load area is actually smaller than that of the V40 and most of it’s rival however the V50 did not increase in size which is often the case. The V50 seems to have a friendly almost childlike design and some of the versions of the V50 have a lowered suspension and also feature fat alloys.
The V50 D5 includes ‘Geartronic’ automatic transmission as standard, a pricey option on the 2.0 diesel and for buyers wanting a 6 speed manual gear box and looking to save a few pounds at the same time, Volvo now offers it.
The driving position is good and rear seat occupants enjoy reasonable space. Motorway refinement is excellent and the V50 also puts in an impressive performance over those twistier roads.
Volvo does go the extra mile when it comes to attention to detail and this is evident in the superb quality of the interior, making the V50 an excellent car to drive.
