An ideal car for driving in towns, the Peugeot 107 is a small, cheap to run and enjoyable car to drive. The facelift in 2009 saw a new front end and upgraded interior while the engine was tweaked for even better efficiency.

Fuel economy being its real strength, the Peugeot 107 1litre 68bhp averages impressive 62.7 mpg and CO2 emissions of just 106g/km, making the car cheap to tax. It is fairly nippy to drive around town and handles well with a top speed of 100mph and 0-62 can be reached in 14.2 seconds.

Although a little basic inside, the 107 is comfortable with a surprising amount of rear room for such a small car. There is a limited range of adjustment on the seat and steering wheel but getting comfortable should not be a problem. Good quality switches and instruments are attached to the steering column and are visible through the wheel. The car handles superbly well and noise levels are fairly low too, although you do get a growl when working the engine hard, which gives it a rather sporty sound.

Boot space is small but adequate for a few shopping bags and is accessed through an awkward hatch opening. You need to fold the split rear seats for carrying any substantial load.
