Patsy Kensit has had her car stolen from outside of her London home after thieves stole the keys to her Mini Cooper.
She wasn’t at home at the time of the burglary, and the star of Holby returned home to find the £11,000 car missing. The police think that the thieves reached through the letter box and opened a catch inside to gain entry to the house taking the keys in the process.
A spokeswoman for the police states ‘Members of the public are reminded not to leave either house or car keys within reach of letterboxes as this is a method frequently used by burglars.’
The car has since been recovered after being fitted with false number plates and driven around the area for several days, and Patsy comments ‘It’s been a very trying time, but life goes on.’
It seems that she is not the only celebrity who is a victim of car theft. Danny Dyer has suffered a double whammy by having his Porsche and his Mercedes stolen from his home while he and his family slept.
One of the cars was found shortly after nearby to his home. He stated ‘Luckily I’m lazy and I didn’t fill it up with petrol, so they probably panicked and just dumped it.’
The star of films including The Football Factory and Dead Man Running commented to The Sun newspaper, ‘It’s the lowest point of my life’.
I guess we are all checking that our keys are well away the front doors now!
