Italian tuners Abarth have given the cute Fiat 500 one heck of a makeover and made it into their own little Herbie, a mini racing car which looks a treat.
The word Abarth is a generic word for performance in Italy, and the R3T group is for supercharged cars with a maximum engine capacity of 1600cc, so if you are looking to take up rally car racing it is a great car for novices, given the relatively low cost for a high performance car.

The standard Abarth 1.4-litre Fiat has been kitted out with a Garrett turbocharger, producing 180bhp of power at 5,500rpm. It is linked to a 6-speed sequential gearbox with a twin disc clutch and self-locking blade differential. Brembo discs provide the stopping power and the suspension is adjustable to obtain a ride suited to the ever changing demanding rally track.
To comply with FIA safety regulations, the G3T is also equipped with a special welded roll-bar and racing seats with six-point harness in place of regular seatbelts.
With the Abarth 500 R3T rally car looking this cool, it should really inspire further sales of all cute little Fiat 500 models.
