Ferarri 458 – Una Bella Machina!

Ferrari has struck gold again with their new Ferrari 458 that is due to make its debut in the “flesh” at the motor show this month at Frankfurt.

This beautiful machine is driven for the first time by Michael Schumacher, who describes this car as “Una bella macchina” – Italian for “a beautiful machine”, and also says “it is a beautiful innovative car”.

The former Ferrari F1 prodigy has been closely involved with the development of its latest supercar, which is due to replace the F430, as he still works for the Italian manufacturer.

A promotional video has been released, featuring the legend himself driving the Italian machine round the track, talking through the innovative F1-style steering wheel, which includes the start button, shock absorber setting adjustments, seven-speed gearshift paddles and indicator and high beam control.

Apologies for the poor presenting on his behalf… he’s just a racing driver to be fair…

According to the retired racer, who is clearly passionate about the 458 Italia, the steering has increased precision and accuracy by a tremendous amount, and the all-new suspension offers a huge improvement on previous models.

He also comments that the acceleration is exceptional from the new 4.5 litre V8, pushing this fantastic car from 0-62mph in less than 3.4 seconds thanks to the 562bhp it produces at 9000rpm.   He sums this car up as “a big step forward” for Ferrari.  Well done to the Italian team for producing yet another beauty!

Ferrari Leasing may be the best way to play with a Ferrari for a year or two but sadly the 458 is not on our books yet!
