If you feel your standard Scooby just isn’t fast enough then take it to Ali Afshar. The specialist Subaru Impreza modifier has taken a stock WRX STi to his Easy Street/ESX Motorsports workshop and performed his magic to get the car from 0-60mph in a staggering 1.9 seconds.
An established American actor working on popular TV series such as ‘Saved by the Bell’ and the ‘King of Queens’ and onto films from ‘Godzilla’ to ‘Three Kings’, Afshar’s motorsports hobby has led him to build a monster of a machine.
Plenty of carbon fibre is used to reduce weight, along with a full racing tube chassis mated to the four wheel drive transmission system and uprated suspension and exhaust. Add a staggering 1400 bhp, extracted from the standard 2.5 litre Impreza engine, to the equation and you end up with a car which can hit a quarter mile from a standing start in 7 seconds and hit an amazing 175 mph in that time! As a result, the Subaru is not only the world’s quickest, but also the fastest.
If you fancy having a go at modifying your own car to beat the stock cars at Santa Pod or your neighbour’s Bugatti Veyron at the lights, then Afshar is featured in a WebRidesTV video which shows the tuning involved on a variety of his specialist cars.
For those who prefer a slightly more sedate rally car, then Special Edition Subaru Imprezas are available to lease.
