BMW is once again putting themselves in a class of their own with the new BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo. This extremely high-class MPV combines elegance, comfort and space all with its own unique style.
The GT’s design is so typical of BMW, with its elegant silhouette and coupe style roofline, and four-doors with frameless windows all create one complete, attractive and very stylish car. The size of this GT is surprising and one would feel like Royalty when driving along, especially with its appealing good looks.
The rear end of the 5 Series GT is extremely practical and is very clever with impressive boot space and double action boot. It opens like a saloon or a hatchback, and a handy feature for bringing home your riding boots from the stables, is the fitted divider between the load area and the rear seats to prevent any smells entering the cabin. There is also a massive 1,700-litre load of space if you fold the divider and the rear seats down. Excellent for all of that other horsey gear!!
The fantastic amount of cabin space is due to the long wheelbase, which is nearly as long and easily as wide as the 7 Series, making this super GT really spacious. The quality interior was designed with luxury and comfort in mind, the displays and controls are grouped according to their functions, the instrument panel enhances the very good visibility provided by the high seating position, and the colours and materials give the impressions of total luxury, space and elegance. This is further enhanced by ceramic elements integrated within the solid wood trim and the panoramic sunroof. The GT is also packed as standard with technology for safety and comfort.
There is pleasure in abundance whilst driving this GT which will be available in two engines: a 3.0-litre straight six turbo and a 3.0-litre diesel which is almost as fast as the petrol. These all come as standard with a new 8-speed automatic gear box.
