BMW displayed their revised versions of the 3 Series Coupe and Convertible models at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit recently. The updates include giving them more power and lower fuel emissions, and in addition to these improvements, the upgrades will also include styling tweaks and new trim levels.
The new models will feature a revised front fascia, complete with new bumpers, a revised grille, and new front air dam, which has been embellished with matt aluminium fins to give the car a wider and more dynamic look. Further subtle modifications have been made on the face of both models including the addition of a chrome strip around the grille, plus LED lights and indicators. To make the car look lower, the rear clusters are expected to get LED light bars along with a restyled rear bumper.
BMW will offer three colours for the exterior: Vermillion Red, Deep Sea Blue and Mineral White. Meanwhile inside, Dakota leather is standard on all Coupe and Convertible models, and a new Anthracite Bamboo trim completes the interior upgrade.
The engine upgrades for the 3 Series Convertible and Coupe means that they now all meet the EU5 regulations, and entry-level models will be available from the launch in March, including a new 318i, powered by a 143bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine.
